On October 12, Amazon announced it will invest over $7 million to open a new logistics center in Ravenhall, Victoria, Australia. The facility will cover 8,800 square meters and is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. This will be Amazon's fourth center in Victoria and will bring the total number of Amazon's logistics centers in Australia to 13.

Once operational, the new center is expected to create over 200 jobs and provide more flexible earning opportunities to the local community through Amazon’s delivery service, Amazon Flex.

Located directly across from Amazon’s existing Ravenhall distribution center, the new facility aims to enhance delivery speed to customers in the surrounding areas. It will handle the "last mile" stage of order fulfillment, where packages are picked up by Amazon Flex delivery partners and delivered directly to customers.

Sandra McNeil, Director of Amazon Australia Operations, stated: “The Ravenhall logistics hub enables us to create more jobs and make a greater contribution to the local economy. We look forward to building strong ties with the local community.” She emphasized that the center will provide customers in Melbourne, Victoria, and surrounding areas with faster and more efficient delivery services.

Additionally, Amazon has partnered with Dexus to secure the strategic location of the new center. It is conveniently located near the planned Western Intermodal Freight Terminal, providing a strategic advantage for distribution.
